Marcy Axelrod

Marcy Axelrod creates abstract sculptural art from resin and other materials. Her process begins well before she engages with her medium. To her, the resin is already art—flowing, shifting, alive, before it takes shape, is colored, molded, hardened and mounted.

She seeks not to control, but to honor and partner with her medium, both guided by natural forces far greater than herself. Gravity, time, chemistry, humidity and temperature shape each piece. Thus, her art is not solely the work of human hands but integrated within universal processes. Each piece embodies the tension of trust, oscillating between control and surrender.

Her works are most often commissioned, held both privately and commercially from the Hamptons to Silicon Valley. Recently, Marcy’s work has been exhibited in multiple galleries in New York (Westchester, Manhattan,) California (San Francisco, Silicon Valley) and Connecticut. She is currently collaborating with The Bruce Museum (Greenwich, CT) the Hamptons Fine Arts Fair (South hampton, NY), as well as with curators of Art Capital, Grand Palais, Paris France.
